A speed suit will give you at least 10% more. A little work on getting more out of your up kick will help too. There are quite a few kicks per length, I think we're (Kiwis) mostly averaging about 1 kick to 3m now.
I left my speed suit at home that day. The whole dive was about how my mind would work, so I didn't care much about drag or style or heavy legs.
I will work on speeding up a little, and using less kicks per lane. Stig pointed out some things that I will work on to get more strength into the kick, so I'll see how that works :)
Andrea: Thanks! My monofin is a Russian one, don't know if it has a name as it's pretty much hand made, but the style is called hyperfin.
Hello, I'm Elisabeth Kristoffersen, a young norwegian freediver competing in this sport on international level.
For me, the reason to go deeper and further on one breath of air, lies in both the challenge and the peace below the surface. And also in the feeling of sheer happiness after good dives:)

ReplyDeleteWell done!
ReplyDeleteJust a curiosity: which brand of mono are you swimming with?

Very impressive ! I personaly feel uncomfortable soon when I am too slow, but it works well for you !
ReplyDeleteI guess you should spend a lot a time to stretch your shoulders... that is the way I work since I have noticed I may save a lot of oxygen !
Congratulations
